Dave Baxter
PARTY!
By Kevdog (as nicknamed by Dave) Hazelton
In the mid-seventies I was living with Jeff Robinson & Ned Schorn (sp?) in a small triplex we called “The Ranch”. I had just graduated from college so what better reason (like we needed one!) to throw a party! We had an empty large glass sparklets bottle that we faithfully put in any spare change we had to fund for “refreshments“…beer, wine and of course tequila & margarita mix. Dave arrived as the party got into full swing and was promptly assigned to help with mixing up the margarita mix. We decided to use the now empty sparklets bottle to mix up our concoction, of course sampling along the way to assure proper mix! We got the bottle about 1/2 full and decided to fill the dispenser and refill if necessary. As we lifted the bottle from the sink we noticed that it had some heft to it, so we both grabbed on to pour in the dispenser, and as we started we realized how wet and slippery it had become and losing grip, followed by “you got it?? and immediate "NOO!” as the bottle fell and smashed into a 1000 pieces! All we could do was laugh, clean up about a gallon of mix, and party on. We still laughed over the years of that memory!
